Termite Guys Brisbane Pty Ltd (ABN 39 159 367 969, QBCC Licence 1238174) (“we”, “us”, “Termite Guys”) respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why, and how we handle it, in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).
What we collect
- Contact details — your name, phone number, email and property address when you request a quote, book an inspection or contact us.
- Property and job information — inspection findings, photos and thermal images of the property, treatment details, and warranty (Free Service Period) records.
- Payment records — invoicing and payment history. We do not store credit card numbers; card payments are processed by our payment providers.
- Website data — pages visited, device and browser information, collected through cookies and similar technologies (see “Cookies and analytics” below).
How we collect it
Directly from you — by phone, SMS, email, our website forms and booking system — and during inspections and treatments at your property. Our job management runs on ServiceM8 and our accounting on Xero, so information you give us is stored in those systems.
Why we collect it
- To provide quotes, inspections, treatments and reports;
- To maintain treatment and warranty records — termite management records are kept long-term because treatments carry a Free Service Period of up to 8 years and Australian Standard AS 3660 record-keeping applies;
- To send annual inspection reminders and service follow-ups;
- To invoice and process payments;
- To meet legal, licensing and insurance obligations.
Cookies and analytics
Our website uses Google Tag Manager and analytics cookies to understand how visitors use the site (for example, which pages are read and whether our QR codes are scanned). We may also use advertising tools such as Google Ads and the Meta (Facebook) Pixel, which can show our ads to people who have visited our site. These tools collect browsing data via cookies; they do not give us your name unless you provide it.
You can opt out at any time: block or clear cookies in your browser, adjust Google Ads Settings, or adjust Meta Ad Preferences.
Who we share it with
We never sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers we use to run the business — job management (ServiceM8), accounting (Xero), payment processors, email and cloud storage (Google Workspace), and analytics/advertising platforms (Google, Meta) — and where the law requires disclosure. Some of these providers store data on servers located overseas (for example, the United States); we use reputable providers with their own privacy safeguards.
Security and retention
We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, loss and unauthorised access, including access-controlled business systems. Treatment and warranty records are retained for as long as needed to honour warranties and meet record-keeping obligations; other information is kept only as long as it is needed.
Access, correction and complaints
You can ask us at any time for access to the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct it. If you have a privacy concern, contact us first and we will do our best to resolve it promptly. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au.
